Stephen L. Mulholland - Founder and Field Supervisor (2000-2017)
Education: Stephen L. Mulholland received a B.A. in Anthropology in 1981 from the University of North Dakota. He went on to receive a M.S. in Interdisciplinary Archaeological Studies from the Univiersity of Minnesota, Minneapolis. Stephen specializes in lithic analysis as well as prehistoric archaeology.
Experience and Qualifications: Stephen worked as an archaeological technician (GS 4-7) for the Superior National Forest, Duluth, MN from 1982-1994. He was a crew and laboratory supervisor at the Archaeometry Laboratory, University of Minnesota, Duluth from 1995-2001. He was an instructor at Northland College, Ashland, WI in 1996 and at the University of Wisconsin, Superior in 2002. He has been the Field Director/Principal Investigator (PI) at DAC since 2000.
Fieldwork: Stephen has been conducting Phase I surveys and Phase II and III excavations since 1979. He has worked as a field supervisor for surveys and excavations for the past 25 years in MN, WI, and ND. He is currently working as a PI and Field Director. He meets SHPO and Federal standards for archaeological field supervisor and PI.
